US missile successfully hits out-of-control satellite

A US missile has successfully hit an out-of-control spy satellite orbiting 130 miles above the surface of the Earth.
The US says the aim of the attack was to destroy a hazardous fuel tank on the USA 193 satellite that could have posed a danger to humans if it survived re-entry to the atmosphere.
